What steps do I need to take to prepare to use the portable edition?

Do I need to copy the contents of the zip file to a thumb drive?

Do I need to create a hard disk partition and transfer the contents of the zip file?

I have uninstalled Synctoy.

Do I need to take additional steps such as manually deleting Synctoy references in the registry and/or deleting the myriad of files Synctoy dispersed throughout my hard disk drives?

I have been using Synctoy from Microsoft for a while, but it has become unstable and unreliable. Are there any steps that I should take regarding Synctoy or the debris it has left on my system prior to using BestSync?
