I'm trying to sync a folder over a satellite WAN connection with 550-650 ms ping times. The folder has 6,000 files in it and they are approximately 10-20 k in size each. Both servers are Windows 2008.
The sync is running very slowly with the expected completion time of 3 days. I've set the process multiple files to 16. When I preview the task, each file copies in a couple of seconds but then the progress bar for each file sits at 100.00% for 140 seconds before it changes to success.
Is there any way to speed up the sync?
Thanks,
John
Copy over a slow WAN link
Re: Copy over a slow WAN link
"140 seconds" stop may be because BestSync is waiting for the server disconnect the data link. It depends on the network response and the FTP server. If the server does not limit the connection number, BestSync support upto 48 threads for one task, though the setup interface says maxium is 16 . This may include the speed.
