Uploading a 6.3 GB file to Amazon S3 always fail

Post by denovo »

Hi,

After we started using BestSync 7.3.0.1 all our synchronization tasks using Amazon S3 bucket as a target starting working.
BestSync synchronized thousand of files.
One file, though, always failed with the following log:

Hello,
The current version of BestSync can not upload files that are larger than 4 GB to Amazon S3.
But we will soon implement this feature, please wait for about 2 weeks.

Upload file larger than 4 GB need to implement the multiple-part upload feature.
This feature can upload large file in multiple-parts concurrently by multiple threads.
Thank you.

Help!!!
I didn't notice during some time, but when the file to be uploaded is too big for the current engine in BestSync, it reports an error in the log (Failed: Incorrect function).
Once it happens, BestSync stops synchronizing the folders.

While we wait for the new feature, could you isolate that exception, ignore it, and continue with the next file?

Sorry for the delay of multiple-parts upload implementation, because we are implementing the MD5 verification feature after uploading a file also. At the current stage, you can exclude the huge file by in the preview window, BestSync will remember the exclusion into the "Exclude/include" setting.
We are now debug the beta version, you will not wait too long for the new feature.

Thanks.
The file itself can not be excluded because the name is generated by MSSQL each time it creates the backup.
I'll continue uploading it manually using Amazon S3 interface until the new version is released.

Thanks, I tested the 64-bit version and it worked flawlessly, sending 3 files bigger than 5 GB simultaneously to Amazon S3.
I downloaded one of them and compared to the original. Perfect.

Hi,

The first day BestSync 2013 Beta worked flawlessly, synchronizing between directories and to Amazon S3 buckets.
But, after sometime, the BestSync service stopped and all synchronization tasks also stopped.
Now I repaired the installation and everything is working again, but something is making it fail.
