Manual Seeds
Manual Seeds
A discussion of the process of manually seeding data sets. For back up tasks that have either very large data sets, slow Internet connections, or both, it may be best to manually seed the initial data set via an external drive. This involves creating the backup task, copying all data to an external drive, physically installing the data set on the target device, and then redirecting the backup task to the remote target location. From this point forward, only the deltas are copied to the target location. This will eliminate the need for very long initial backup sessions which can take several days to complete.
Re: Manual Seeds
Yes, you can manual copy all the files using an external disk to the remote folder, then use Bestsync to synchronize the local folder with the remote folder.
