SFTP doesnt complete one way sync

Post by MichalRatzke »

Hi All,

I hope you will be able to help me with my issue,
I' using hosted linux server, where its MySQL backups are being produced on a daily basis. I decided to use BestSync to pull those backups to my local server on a everyday via sftp. The problem I have is that some files are failing to complete. Program just shows error for particular file, or just freezes downloading. Please refer to the attached log file . Files affected are:

InPageCoverageBreakdownReport.sql.tar.gz - size around 5GB
FlixFlexCoverageBreakdownReport.sql.tar.gz - size around 1,5 GB

thank you all in advance,
Michal

I have viewed the log file, there are many timeout errors.
Could you please set a longer timeout in the SFTP Folder Browser to see if the problem can be avoided?

Hi,

thank you for your reply,
could you please navigate me where to change it, as I cannot find it? I checked all the tabs in "modify job" and options under "options", but didn't manage to find anything about timeouts.

Thank you

Here is the folder browser of SFTP where you can set the timeout time.

Hello,

thank you for this,
I changed it from 180s to 600s and problem is still occuring. I noticed when watching preview windows, that as soon as download wants to process the file is fails right away. It doesn't seems to wait for x amount of time.

thank you,

Have you opened the port 22 in the firewall setting of your PC?

yes, port 22 is open on my windows server (where bestsync is installed), my network firewall and on the server's side too.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if port 22 was not open, I wouldn't be able to establish connection att all, right?

We have modified the SFTP feature. Could you please try the new version 8.0.5.8 to see if the problem has been resolved?

Hi,

thank you for update, but unfortunatelly the problem still persists. I have uninstalled previous 8.0.5.6 (64bit) version and installed new, as you advised 8.0.5.8 (64bit)
Please find the log attached . There are only 7 errors, as I stopped synchronisation before finishing. There is no point for me to carry on until this problem is solved. If you want some more errors to be written to the log, I can always re-run it and attach it.

Thnaks for help

I can see from the log file that the timeout problem is still there. So we have modified the timeout process of SFTP.
Please uninstall the current version first, the download and install AGAIN the new released version to see if the problem has been resolved.
