SFTP Transfer - Failed: The System Cannot Find The Specified File

Post by DipitMistry »

Hi Support

I am carrying out SFTP Transfer/Sync and recieving the message Failed: The system cannot find the specified file on 3247 its. I have run the sync multiple time and it still comes back with this figure. I have checked a sample of files and confirmed that do exist

When checked the folders of the SFTP where the data is being sync'd to I can also see some of the files have been copied across (false positives ? ) and some have not.

I am unable to attach the log files here as they are too big

Could you please advise

Thank you for reaching out to RiseFly Software support. I understand the inconvenience caused by the SFTP transfer issue you are experiencing, and I am here to assist you in resolving it.

Based on the information you provided, the error message "Failed: The system cannot find the specified file" suggests that there may be an issue with file paths or permissions during the synchronization process. To help diagnose and resolve the problem, please follow these steps:

1. **Preview Task Logs**: Start the preview of the synchronization task within BestSync. At the bottom of the preview window, you should see a log section that provides detailed information about the errors encountered during the transfer. This will help pinpoint the specific files or operations causing the issue.

2. **Verify File Paths**: Double-check the paths of the source and destination folders to ensure they are correctly configured. Confirm that the files referenced in the synchronization task exist at the source location.

3. **Permission Check**: Ensure that you have the necessary read/write permissions for the root folders on both the local system and the SFTP server. Lack of proper permissions could lead to failures during file synchronization.

4. **Log File Analysis**: Since the log files are too large to attach to your email, you can consider extracting a relevant portion of the logs that includes the error messages or problematic entries. This will help us analyze the issue further.

5. **False Positives**: If some files have been copied successfully while others have not, it could indicate intermittent connectivity issues or specific file-related errors. Reviewing the logs will clarify whether these are false positives or genuine errors.

If you still encounter difficulties after following these steps, please feel free to reach out again with any additional details or observations. Alternatively, you may upload the log file to a secure file-sharing service and provide us with the link, so we can examine it thoroughly.

Hi I have checked all of the above and all seems to be order.

I am trying to share the log files with you via google drive however the risefly@risefly.com account is not associated with google, could you provide me with an email address for the sharing permission

I have attached a snapshot of the Logfile, the error is the same for all items.

If use FileZilla to copy one of the files from the host to the destination - the file copies across successfully

Could you please export the task setting to a file, edit the file to remove the password, then send the file to risefly@risefly.com, so that we can confirm the task settings.
