Dear folks,
I have established some sync jobs between Outlook and a local USB stick.
The jobs are schedulded to sync once every hour.
This morning I forgot to bring my USB with me. Right after booting my computer, BestSync started to perform the jobs.
Since the stick was not present and also no other drive was mapped to the corresponding drive letter, BestSnyc did not find any data and emptied my Outlook account completely!
A backup was not written too, since the backup folder was also on the stick and BestSync did not recognize absence of the drive.
Is there no safety feature, that checks availability of the drives???
Regards, Dirk
Sync from non-existent drive?
Re: Sync from non-existent drive?
On design of BestSync, if the USB drive is not connected, the sync-task will fail with "Drive not ready" error, and will not delete all the files in another side.
Is the task setup to synchronize with a ZIP file on USB drive? If it is, it is a known problem, we are fixing it now.
