General option, "FTP Active Mode" tab

Select the [Option/Option] menu to start this Global Option dialog box.

Setup the advanced options for FTP active mode.

If all the FTP task uses "Passive-Mode" to connect to the FTP server, you can just ignore this setting.

Limit Local Ports:

Limit the local ports that are used in FTP Active Mode ("PORT" command).

Set the port range that is used by FTP active-Mode.

For the reason of internet security, please set a small range of port number. And you must add this port range to the allowed list of Windows Firewall and internet security software; otherwise the communictation may be blocked.

NOTE:BestSync will add the port range set here to the allowed list of the Windows Fire Wall. If you are using other firewall, please add the port range to the allowed ports of the firewall or Anti-spam software, otherwise the communication may be blocked by the firewall or Anti-spam software.

External IP address used for Active Mode:

Set the external IP address used by the "PORT" command in FTP "active-mode" transfer.

If your PC is connecting to the FTP server over the internet, and the PC is in a local network, you may need to configure the options here to get the external IP address.
