How to set the Gmail account as Outgoing Mail Server

Outgoing Mail Server setting for sending the e-mail.

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)--host name or IP address of the SMTP server.

SMTP port--The port number of the SMTP server. If SSL option is not checked, the port number is 25. If SSL is checked, the port number is 465.

My Email Address--The mail address that the mail is send from.

Timeout--Time out in second.

This server requires an encrypted connect (SSL/TLS)--If the SMTP server supports SSL (Secure Socket Layer), check this option to use the encrypted connection.

"POP Before SMTP" setting:

If your SMTP server need "POP Before SMTP" authentication, you need to log into the POP3 server before sending e-mails.

Please input the host name or IP address of the POP3 server in "POP3 Server IP" , and input "POP3 Port" (110), "Account User" and "Account password" of the POP3 server.

You can press the "Test" button to send a testing mail, to check if the SMTP and POP3 setting is correct.

"SMTP Authentication" setting:

If your SMTP server needs authentication, such as "AUTH CRAM-MD5" or "AUTH LOGIN", please check this option.

Please input the SMTP authentication account name in the "Account user" edit box and the password in the "Account Password" edit box.

You can press the "Test" button to send a testing mail, to check if the SMTP and POP3 setting is correct.

Hint: Set a Gmail account as the outgoing mail account:

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)== smtp.gmail.com

SMTP port==465

My Email Address==The mail address of Gmail, like "bestsync@gmail.com"

Timeout--60

This server requires an encrypted connect (SSL/TLS)--Tick the check box.

Authentication==SMTP Authentication

Account user==The mail address of Gmail, like "bestsync@gmail.com"

Account password==Set the 16 characters " App Password "

Please do not set the password of your Gmail account, otherwise the authentication will fail with the following error in the response.

NOTE:Please switch on "Allow less security apps" to "ON" in your Google account, otherwise Google will block apps that use SMTP etc legacy protocol like BestSync from sending email.
