If you want to use BestSync to download files from HTTP website, you can use this WebDAV synchronization function.
Because a normal website does not support listing files, you need to add these files to Exclude or Include list. When BestSync synchronizes these files, it check the file size and last-modified time, if files have not been changed, BestSync will not download them.(1). Select "WebDAV" in the "File System" list.
(2). Setup the parameters for connecting to the WebDAV server.
Server: The hostname of the WebDAV server, like "dav.server.com". Or the IP address, like "192.168.10.1".
User and Password: The user account.
Port: The TCP/IP port, usually it is 80. If port number is 0, BestSync will use the default port number 80, or if "Use HTTPS" option is checked, port 443 will be used.
Use HTTPS: If this option is checked, BestSync uses secured socket (SSL/TLS) to connect to the server, all the data transferred over the network is encrypted.
Use http Proxy:
If the local computer is behind a firewall or NAT, usually the computer needs the proxy to connect to the WebDAV server.
If this option is checked at the first time, the "http Proxy" dialog box will be popped up for setup up the http proxy server.
(3). After set up the host name and account, press "Go" button to connect to the WebDAV server, and list the collections folders in the WebDAV server to the tree view.
The log window below the treeview logs all the commands sent to the WebDAV server, and responses from the WebDAV server. If the connection between BestSync and WebDAV server can not be established successfully, please check the log.
(4). Select the folder in the tree view.
(5). Click "OK" button to end the dialog box
